A group of Muslim clerics has addressed a press conference at Lahore Pakistan demanding the Supreme Court of Pakistan to ban the Holy Bible in Pakistan. A leader Maulana Abdul Rauf Farooqi claimed many passages in Holy Bible are insulting to Messengers that hurt Muslims therefore it should be declared as blasphemous book and to be banned. Farooqi warned if the court failed to do so a penal of lawyers is ready to move a writ petition in the court. The groups of clerics issued a press release containing various references from Holy Bible that they think are blasphemous for Muslims.
Farooqi prefaced the demand of banning the Holy Bible is the result of Blasphemy incidences against Muslims’ prophet Mohammad, such as publishing Cartoons, desecrating Quran, and burning of Holy Quran in Florida. The groups of Muslim clerics want to teach a lesson to Rev. Terry Jones who burnt the Quran that they can also attack Christianity in the same way.
Maulana Farooqi belongs to a strong Islamic Political party known as Jamiat Ulmah Islam (JUI) who cited number of scriptures that, according to him, are insulting for Muslims because Muslims give respect to all the messengers wholeheartedly while the scriptures speak ill about them. He quoted following scriptures as objectionable for Muslims.
Genesis 29:23 32-35… by giving these references Farooqi accused Holy Bible of speaking ill about Jacob, in his press release he said that Bible says, “Messenger (Jacob) commit adultery with his father’s wife….”
2 Samuel 11:2-27 by giving this reference he (Farooqi) accused Bible insulting of King David of seeing a woman(Bathsheba) taking bath and laying with her and that Holy Bible said King David killing her husband. Farooqi thinks that David (He used word messenger in his press release), being messenger of God cannot do this so Holy Bible tells twisted and fabricated stories and committed blasphemy against David.
Genesis 38:18 By giving this reference Farooqi accused Holy Bible of telling wrong about Jude. He said in his press release that, “a great messenger’s son committed adultery with his son’s wife”
Exodus 32:2-6 by giving this reference in his press release Farooqi accused Holy Bible of telling wrong story that a Messenger (Aaron) made idol cast in the shape of a calf.
1 Kings 13:11-29, by giving this reference he (Farooqi) wrote in his press release that Holy Bible narrates wrong about a Messenger of God spoke false about God to another Messenger of God, interpreted God’s message wrongly and made him punished by God by deceiving him.
1 Kings 11:2-13, by giving this reference Farooqi accused Holy Bible of telling untrue story about a Messenger (Solomon) that he got involve with idol worshiper women, he started worshiping idols and made idols’ temples etc…
2 Samuel 13:1-22 by giving this reference Farooqi accused Holy Bible of saying a filthy story of a messenger’s (David’s) beloved son (Amnon) committed adultery with his sister.
Mathew 1:3/ Genesis 38 Farooqi gave these references and said that a Messenger (I don’t know whom he talks about here) and another great prophet were illegal sons.
Mathew 26:14-47 Farooqi gave this reference defending Judas, he said in his press release that Holy Bible told wrong about a prophet (Judas), (here Farooqi used word prophet and follower for Judas) sold a most respected prophet for 30 coins. (here Farooqi used word “Jaleel-al-Qadar prophet for Christ”)
Mathew 16:23 Here Farooqi accused Holy Bible that in this reference a “Jaleel-al-Qadar prophet” (Christ) said Satan to a prophet (Peter).
He also accused Christianity of great source of spreading immorality, pornography, dance and wrongdoings. He claimed that Holy Bible is based on teachings that messengers of God were also with same life styles. He showed his concern that there is lobby that want convert Islamic cultures into that bad and filthy culture of sex free countries.
The Muslim group demanded Supreme Court of Pakistan to take an action and ban sale, purchase and preaching of Holy Bible in Pakistan otherwise, they threatened; they will set a private court and punish Holy Bible for its blasphemous portions. The group also denies accepting Paul as apostle accusing him of twisting and fabricating the actual contents of Holy Bible and introducing a fake religion of Christianity. The group is intending to punish Paul by crucifying him symbolically.
At the end of press release, Maulana Farooqi threatened that Muslims will take revenge of burning Quran at any cost.
Situation of over controversial blasphemy laws is worsening day by day. It needs church around the world to be strong in earnest prayers for safety of Christians here in Pakistan.
